1.  What university did you attend for your degree?
.
.
Hearing aid fitter and dispensers, Hearing Aid Specialists and Audioprosthologist are not required to have a college degree, they may only have a high school diploma. They are not trained to make a medical diagnosis of disease or injury. They are not allowed to falsely give the impression that the service is being provided by a physician or a person who has been awarded a degree or title.
I recommend you see a Doctor of Audiology and avoid the hearing aid store.
.
.
2.  If you have a degree are you a Doctor or an Audiologist?  Did the degree come from an accredited university?
.
.
Some dispensers have college degrees.  The degrees however may have nothing to do with Audiology and may not be medical in anyway.
.
.
3.  Do you have at least three years experience?
.
.
We have all seen offices come and go. You don't want to spend money on a office that may not be around in the next year. Dr. Whritenour has over 22 years experience and his office has been established in San Antonio for over 36 years.
.
.
4.  What brands do you carry? Why?
.
.
Sometimes manufactures offer discounts on older models.  You don't want to purchase an aid that may already be outdated. Also I believe its better to have many brands to choose from than dealing with someone who only carries one.  Multi-line offices like Dr. Whritenour can pick and choose the best technology for your loss.
.
.
5.  What is the hearing aid going to cost?
.
If you feel uncomfortable at all I suggest you get it in writing.
.
.
6.  Do I have a trial period?
.
Texas law requires a 30 day trial period.  This is not something the dispenser is giving you out of the goodness of his heart. Its the law.  The dispenser is allowed to retain a fee for service if you return it.  Be sure to find out what that is.  If it seems unreasonable don't agree to it.
.
.
7.  Do you have a nationwide in office services for life?
.
.
A manufactures warranty only covers the cost of the repair not an office visit.  If you were to move you may still be required to pay an office vist if you need a repair on your aid.  Dr Whritenour Au.d belongs to AudNet, a nation wide network of Audiologist.  The Audnet network provides free in office services to all its patients.
.
.
8.  How long is the warranty.
.
Typical manufactures warranty is one year for entry level aids and two to three years for advanced models.
.
.
9.  Do you charge for follow up visits?
.
.
Dr. Whritenour AuD  does not charge for follow up check ups, cleanings, evaluations and in office repairs for the life of your aid purchased in his office.
.
.
10.  Are you in good standing with our BBB?
